Increasing conversions by 277% in one year
A R Banks’ vision is to be a UK leader in haulage, lifting and groundworks services by maintaining unparalleled safety and quality standards, while consistently exceeding client expectations. The scale of projects the company is involved in requires the utmost trust and communication which needs to be reflected within their branding, website and marketing.
As a company providing both b2b and b2c clients with a diverse range of services and with high aspirations for commercial growth, their digital presence needs to hit the mark.
Exceptional increase in total conversions over a single year, demonstrating massive gains in overall marketing efficiency.
Significant surge in direct traffic from search engines since September 2025, driving more qualified visitors to the site.
Consistently outperforming industry benchmarks to ensure paid campaign budgets yield maximum return on investment.
A R Banks came to us having already been through the process once with a previous agency that had built them a website that missed the mark on design. But more damagingly, the new website had caused their search performance to fall off a cliff since launch.
They now needed a partner to not just realise their vision for the website but to mitigate the damage done by a previous agency to regain lost custom and ensure an increase in performance and commercial growth. When a company has been let down previously, the project requires more care, reassurance and a team that can actually deliver. And we were excited to show them how it can be done right.
Before anything was designed or built, we went back to basics. A R Banks needed brand foundations they could build their business from. We led the design work, creating visuals that gave the business a coherent, credible aesthetic that would inform all future design work.
Design, build and copy
With the brand now established and signed off, we moved onto the website design and our Technical team took on the build in our bespoke content management system (CMS) - Serenity Source.
Critically, the Growth team worked alongside the design and build process on copywriting to ensure the site launched with content that was well-structured, optimised for search and written to support both the user journey and search performance.
Recovering search performance
The SEO challenge on this project was twofold: recover the authority and rankings lost since the previous site launched and build a stronger technical and content foundation for the new one.
The Growth team led the SEO work, ensuring the new site built enough authority to be seen and performed on search engines.
Ongoing marketing
Following a very successful website launch, we now manage their SEO, search engine advertising and content marketing.
The three channels work in sync to compound a high performing digital presence: SEO builds long-term visibility, paid advertising on Google Ads captures transactional demand and content marketing sustains credibility and engagement across both.
Conversions across phone, form, and email grew dramatically post-launch, with overall conversion rates reaching as high as 12%.
Search impressions quadrupled, putting A R Banks in front of a far wider pool of potential clients actively looking for their services.
Organic click-throughs comfortably more than doubled over the period, driven directly by higher placement on search results pages.
High-intent terms saw major jumps, "low loader hire" grew 75% and "heavy haulage Southampton" moved firmly into top five results.
Average rankings jumped off page four and onto page two, capturing significantly more high-intent organic traffic.
A business that had previously been left with a poor website and declining visibility now has a coherent brand identity, a website built to perform, paid ads that drive the right visitors to the site and copy that converts visitors into enquiries. The whole project was delivered by a single team of experts in their field.
This project for A R Banks is a useful reminder of what's at stake when digital work goes wrong. A bad website can actively cost a business in search visibility and even credibility. Recovering from that takes more than just a new design. It takes a team that understands how all the pieces connect and can deliver them confidently.
