Amazon experiments with 30 minute delivery by Drone

CEO Jeff Bezos has announced that within the next 4-5 years he expects a network of automated drones to be able to deliver Amazon deliveries to your door within 30 minutes of completion on their website.

As the video below shows, after being picked, your delivery (which we assumed will have a size and weight dependance) will be assigned to a drone where your location will be programmed for delivery. How they plan to ensure that you end up with the package rather than it being left in the elements or stolen by passers by we're not sure, but it really shows the power which drones can bring to day-to-day life.

As the comments on the youTube video suggest, there are mixed reactions to this with many thinking it's a great way to get your hands on your own Amazon drone. I guess we'll have to see how Bezos plans to overcome these barriers.
