At a glance

As a Senior Designer with many years in the creative industry, Jessie’s background began in print design, a grounding that still heavily shapes how she approaches every project she leads today, from initial concept right through to final delivery. She now works across a vast visual spectrum, tackling everything from branding and websites to brochures, exhibition stands, presentation and motion graphics. A visual problem solver at heart, she works closely with colleagues across different departments to bring client projects to life, taking real pride in building strong relationships with both clients and suppliers along the way.

Day to day, Jessie balances multiple projects, moving seamlessly from designing new website layouts to creating fresh logo concepts for branding projects. She constantly supports the wider Serenity team, whether that involves generating new graphics or advising on layout and styling. She also liaises directly with clients on their projects, keeping a close eye on how their branding is being used to make sure it stays consistent and true to who they are across all their marketing.

Jessie’s approach always starts with understanding. She gets a proper grasp of the client, their service, their sector, and their audience before she even begins to think about design. Knowing that good design has to represent the brand just as much as it needs to look good, she treats her work as a balance of problem-solving and aesthetics. She begins every new project by asking questions, then heads straight into her sketchbook to work through ideas and layouts by hand, a technique she has relied on throughout her career, and one that consistently produces genuinely good outcomes.

“From the moment I joined Serenity, I've felt genuinely lucky to be part of such a talented group of people. Working alongside such skilled colleagues isn't something I take for granted, it's a real privilege. Getting to know the people around me has meant so much, and I feel incredibly lucky to have formed real, special friendships with the people I work with day to day.”

Areas of specialism

Outside the 9 to 5

Outside of work, you will usually find Jessie out in the countryside with her dog, Hurley, or at the beach with her family. There is nothing she loves quite like hunting for interesting shells, building sandcastles with her children, and, if she is lucky enough to get in the water, surfing, bodyboarding, or paddleboarding. She is also a keen collector of 1980s vinyl; for Jessie, there is something incredibly special about hearing a record in its original quality, crackles and all, which adds a character you simply cannot get anywhere else.

As a mum of two young girls, life is busy but joyful. Keeping on top of family life, school runs, and various events takes a fair bit of organisation, which is a skill she brings straight back into her work. Being a mum has also made her more patient, empathetic and a better listener. She finds real reward in supporting her teammates and watching their ideas and confidence grow.

“My love of simple things, countryside walks, family days at the beach, listening to music, shapes the creative I am today. It's where I find meaning and emotional connection, and that's exactly what I try to bring into the stories I tell through my work.”
